Janet Carmichael
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Janet Carmichael has been the executive director of NISHS since 1996. She has credentials in sociology, gender studies and leadership and has worked in the non-profit sector for most of her career. Janet is honoured to work within the context of a vibrant, committed and evolving team to provide opportunities for healing for people that live in the community that she loves and calls home.
Dr. Sheila Haegert, Ph.D
Dr. Sheila Haegert is a registered psychologist who provides clinical consultation for the counselling team.

We are a small group of accredited counsellors and clinicians that offer specialized trauma therapy services. Our counsellors use both somatic and cognitive techniques and a wide range of approaches to treat various types of trauma.
